"Nameless" Lions Stun No. 1 Sooners
There might not have been any names on their jerseys, but you can bet Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford knows every member of No. 8 Penn State's defense by heart.
The lone lions, as the disambiguation suggests, were heavy underdogs when they entered Dolphin Stadium to face top-seeded Oklahoma in the first round of the 2008 FBS Fantasy Playoff, but they quickly showed their might; dominating almost every aspect of the fair-weather showdown.

More physical than finessed, more brutish than beautiful, the Nittany Lions overcame an early 7-0 deficit -- blocking a botched Oklahoma field goal and running it back to tie the game early in the Second Quarter.
On the next Sooner series, Penn State smashed the OU offensive line, and sent star quarterback Sam Bradford to the turf -- aggravating a recently-mended thumb injury that ultimately would force him to the sidelines.
Paterno's men capitalized -- tightening control of the clock and garnering a 10-point lead at halftime. The Big 10 representatives never looked back.
"We were surprised," Oklahoma Coach Bob Stoops lamented in a post-game press conference. "No one knew what it was," he quipped, referring to the Nittany Lion's defense. "Where we come from you just don't play like that -- It's almost unsportsmanlike."
Penn State (12-1) advances to face the winner of No. 4 Alabama v. No. 5 USC in the East Divisional Final on January 1st.

Unsportsmanlike
Yep, Stoops, that’s what playing defense is in your video game offense world.
Glad the computers understand that the B12 only knows how to play on one side of the ball.

No way on God's green Earth PSU wins a high scoring game like that
PSU wins big games with defense and conservative offense. No way in hell that score ever happens.
PSU 24 OK 17 would be much more realistic.
Go back to the 1987 NC game, PSU won 14 – 10 against one of the most prolific offenses that’s ever played NCAA, including the Heisman winner and a future NFL HoF, plus an NFL Super Bowl winning coach.

You'd think: best of both worlds?
But, no. It certainly isn’t. I grew up a GINORMOUS Tide fan, Bear Bryant in total particular. Our house had more pictures and homages to Bear than . . . well . . .let’s just say “We’re Catholics and Southern Baptists” in our household. (Dad=Chile / Mom=Arkansas). However, USC is my alma mater- so it looks as if I’m “in a pickle” or “in a candy store”? Nope, it isn’t the “candy store” one that’s for sure. Pickle, it is.
I’d have to say USC 35 – BAMA 31
Bama’s O Line wrestles control of game in late 3rd qtr, but it’s too late. ’SC’s D never tire, nor never give up the big play and after taking a 28 – 10 halftime lead, penalties hurt the Tide more than the Trojans and Bama’s backs earn hard fought 2nd half TD’s. Julio Jones gets hurt on a slant in the 2nd qtr by an Ellison-Mays tag team clock. Doesn’t see the field for the remainder of the game, JPW has off day- Mark Sanchez gets hot in 1st half but cools in 2nd half gaining more rushing yards than passing yards in final quarter. Nick Saban and Pete Carroll take in a Laker game sitting next to Jack Nicholson and Salma Hayek that night. (you never know?)
