(+/- Denotes change in rank from previous standings)

Crystal Ball Call: TCU by 3 (Cubs2k8isnxtyearPicks).  Although this one really belongs to the six competitors who held out for the upset.  After 29 minutes replete with mistakes the Horned Frogs refused to quit, incubating an option offense and driving a Boise stake into the heart of the Broncos.  The moral of the story: defense > offense.  TCU 17, BSU 16.

Hindsight is 20-20: Boise State by 21 (Lakeeriemonster).  Here's a generally fail safe way to take a dive in the standings: count on the untested.

TCM: Turner Classic Moves

Esquire Play of the Day: Joseph Turner's 17-yard run midway through the fourth quarter gave No. 11 TCU its first lead of the night, a boone it preserved for a 17-16 victory over No. 9 and previously undefeated Boise State in the Poinsettia Bowl.

Lady Bama Hawkeye

should be at 15 for getting the spread on the NO Bowl.

According to the master bracket she picked Troy by 3

So Miss won by 3.

Naturally, you don’t get any points if you pick the wrong team. (Technically I guess that’s an implied rule).

Did we make a mistake on the pick itself?

And here this whole year

I had been working my picks on the theory that the spreads wrapped around.

I should have clarified. At least now you have an excuse if Lady Bama beats you…

Kind of makes

guessing a spread of less than 8 points foolish, no?

Indeed

Unless, that is, you’re gunning for a perfect spread bonus. Quite a few contests end on a field goal…

7 is much more common than 8, however,

and 7 includes key numbers 3, 7 (obviously), 10, and 14, along with semi-key 4, 8, 9, 11, and 13
