General Sherman
I don't know if I missed this at some point, but how is it that Sherman came to be the secondary logo or guardian to this page. Is it a jab at the SEC and and how he tore up the South, the fact that he was Ohio born, is it both? Just curious. He is one of my favorite figures from the Civil War and I love that he is prominantly figured on the site, but I never quite understood why?
Anyways, keep up the good work on the page.

Both...
One of our favorite aspects of the college game is the way in which team spirit and pageantry intersect with regional climates, traditions, and attitudes. Sherman is a reflection of the fact that college football is more than a sport, it’s a microcosm of society.
And yeah, we love to remind the SECsh that in the game of life, the North is undefeated against Bonnie Blue Flag…

Yes, yes, and yes...
On a historical note, I love the furrowed brow of a man who almost went crazy in the Civil War and then righted his mental ship to play a key part in keeping America together…I love the Union Blue…And although I would never support violence and killing, Sherman’s role in the Civil War exemplifies the horror and heroism of war, making him an important figure to not be forgotten…
On a football note…in a time when the Big 10 struggles reputation-wise against the SEC, it is nice to have a man who showed his great speed v the South. (wink and nod to Team Speed Kills).

He’s the one who made the SEC fast as they ran their asses off to get the hell away from him.
